Transportation Safety Board investigating cause of plane crash at Lethbridge Airport

The Transportation Safety Board is investigating after a twin-propeller Cessna crashed next to an active runway at the Lethbridge Airport on Nov. 13, 2025.

No one was injured when a small plane crashed at the Lethbridge Airport.

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to the airport on Nov. 13 around 2:15 p.m. after a twin-propeller Cessna 441 Conquest crashed on the grass beside an active runway.

The aircraft sustained significant damage to both engines and its landing gear.

The pilot was the only person on board and was not injured.

Crews secured the scene to ensure airport operations could continue safely.

“We’re going to continue to assess to make sure no additional damage to our infrastructure,” says Cameron Prince, Lethbridge Airport Manager. “At this point, it looks like very minor pavement damage that we have to worry about.”

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will lead the investigation.

This is the second plane crash in southern Alberta this week.

The first incident involved a small private plane in Medicine Hat.

Two people were on board but no one was hurt.
