Traffic stop in Olds area leads to seizure of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, GHB and cash

Two people have been charged following a traffic stop in the Bowden/Olds area.

On Feb. 4, Olds RCMP conducted a traffic stop with assistance from Airdrie RCMP, RCMP police dog services the Safer Communities and Neighbourhood (SCAN) unit.

Police say the traffic stop led to the seizure of 45 grams of suspected cocaine, 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a quantity of GHB and a sum of Canadian currency.

A 62-year-old Bowden man and a 37-year-old Olds woman were both charged with two counts for the purpose of trafficking.

Following a bail hearing, both were released from custody. They’re scheduled to appear in court in Didsbury on Feb. 23.
