Local law enforcement is looking for help solving two sexual assaults they say happened in the same area of Calgary’s southwest, one after the other. Both incidents occurred near the Chinook CTrain station, police say. According to police, the first incident happened around 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 13, along 1A Street near 58th Avenue. “(A woman) was approached by an unknown man who grabbed her and touched her in a sexual manner without consent,” police said in a release issued Monday. The first incident was reported to police. And police say they discovered a second, unreported sexual assault while reviewing area CCTV footage in relation to the first. “Investigators observed a second woman being assaulted in a similar manner at the same location just minutes later,” police said. On Monday, regular CTrain users were rattled to learn of the incidents. “You want to feel safe to go to work,” said one person. “I really hope we can catch the perpetrator very fast, so women feel more safe,” said another. Any member of the public who has relevant information or dash-cam footage is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. With files from Tyson Fedor
