Telus Spark is adding an extra attraction into its Spark After Dark event Friday night: an Artemis II splashdown watch party. Doors will open early Friday evening, at 5:30 p.m., allowing Spark After Dark ticketholders the opportunity to experience the splashdown scheduled for 6:04 p.m. inside the Spark’s Feature Gallery. The watch party will lead directly into Spark after Dark at 6 p.m., where the theme of the night is the science of sports, an 18+ experience that explores sport science through interactive challenges, late-night exploration -- and cocktails. The event includes a number of hands-on activities like a hockey slapshot lane, biathlon challenges, motion capture technology demos and virtual reality labs that explore biomechanics and injury prevention. There will also be live demonstrations, expert-led workshops and a panel of experts discussing health in sports. “At Spark, we’re always looking for ways to connect people to science as it happens,” said Victor Bustamante, Telus Spark senior director of business development and guest services. “What’s more extreme than being in space? To be able to witness a moment like splashdown together, then step into a night all about the science of human performance — it’s a pretty incredible pairing.” For more information, go here.
