Street closures downtown Sunday for the Pride Parade

A number of streets will be closed downtown Sunday due to the Pride Parade.

A number of road closures will be in effect downtown on Sunday due to the Pride Parade.

Calgary police posted on social media advising motorists to be aware of the following closures:

• Ninth Avenue will be closed from Eighth Street S.E. in Inglewood to 11 Street S.W. in the Downtown West End until 3 p.m.
• Starting at 6 a.m., 8 Street S.E. to Third Street S.W., including multiple streets in East Village, will be closed.
• Starting 9 a.m., 3 Street S.W. to 11 Street S.W. will be closed.

There will also be a number of temporary parking lot closures Sunday. Cars can enter lots before 9 a.m., but won’t be able to leave until after 3 p.m.

Affected Lots: 7, 24 (Arts Commons), 25 (City Centre Parkade, 10th Ave side will remain open), 36 (City Hall Parkade), 54 (Centennial Parkade), 60 (Convention Centre Parkade) and 62 (Platform Parkade).

Lot 55 (East Village) will be closed from Friday Aug 29 from 6 a.m. to Sunday Aug 31 at 5 p.m.
