Mild conditions will persist for the first two days of this week with seasonal daytime highs and lows, and a mix of sun and cloud around Calgary. The wind will be weak, but cool – coming in from the north at 10 to 15 km/h for most of the day Monday. An incoming ridge of high pressure will move in from the Pacific basin on Tuesday and push temperatures up to the high teens in Calgary on Wednesday and Thursday. Another shift in the weather patterns will develop at the end of the week – pulling the midlatitude jet stream toward the southern border of the western prairies. Cold air is expected to settle in over the western half of the country by Saturday and daytime highs will range from 0 C to 3 C early next week. During that transition there is a slight chance of mixed precipitation. This could potentially reach Calgary later Friday, but if it does, accumulations are expected to remain low.
