One person is dead after a serious motor vehicle collision that took place Friday afternoon near Airdrie. Just before 4 p.m., Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to the intersection of Symons Valley Road and Big Hill Springs Road in Rocky View County for reports that a motorcycle travelling north on Symons Valley Road hit a car turning south onto the road from Bill Hill Springs Road. The motorcycle driver, a 51-year-old woman, was declared dead on scene. The driver of the car, a 39-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by paramedics. Highway 567 at Highway 772 west of Airdrie is closed in all directions as of 4:26 p.m. For traffic updates, consult @511Alberta.
