A local company is expanding with three new Nordic spa destinations in Alberta and British Columbia. Basecamp Resorts plans to build a spa connected to its hotel in Banff, a spa and hotel in Fernie, B.C., and a lakeside spa in Harmony, west of Calgary. The 138,000 square foot facility in Harmony is expected to be one of the largest in North America. The spas will be under Basecamp’s Everwild brand, which opened in Canmore in November. Basecamp said the new spas will open in 2027 or 2028. The Harmony location will employ as many as 300 people.
