Jordan Switzer shuts down Raiders as Tigers pull out another one in overtime thriller

The Medicine Hat Tigers celebrate their second consecutive 2-1 overtime victory over the Prince Albert Raiders Tuesday night.

The Medicine Hat Tigers got stellar goaltending from Jordan Switzer and seized every opportunity they were presented with Tuesday night in a heart-stopping 2-1 victory over Prince Albert in overtime.

The Raiders dominated the game, outshooting the Tigers 38-21 on the night, but Liam Ruck banked one in off Raider goalie Michal Orsulak 4:07 into the first overtime to give Medicine Hat a hard-fought win.

The Raiders got on the board first, getting a goal from Daxon Rudolph with around four and a half minutes remaining in the first period, but Kade Stengrim matched it, scoring his sixth post-season goal with a little under four minutes remaining in the second to send it to the third knotted at a goal apiece.

That was it for scoring until Ruck rattled it in off Ursulak from an awkward angle for the win, sending a Co-Op Place crowd of 5,204 home happy.

Switzer was the first star for the second night in a row.

Game 4 goes Wednesday night at Co-Op Place. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Medicine Hat leads the WHL Eastern Conference Final two games to one.
