A Lethbridge man is $100,000 richer after winning big on a lottery ticket. Ray Delongchamp purchased his Lotto Max ticket from the Sobeys on Bluefox Boulevard, and won by matching the last six digits in the Sept. 30 Extra draw. Delongchamp says his wife realized they had won while checking the numbers of the Western Canada Lottery Corporation’s website. “I couldn’t believe it,” Delongchamp said in a Thursday news release. “The website said there were three Extra winners in Alberta, so I joked we would have to split the prize.” Delongchamp took the ticket to a store to check it with the cashier shortly after. “The clerk confirmed to us it was the full $100,000 that we’d won,” he said. “They even gave us a hug!” Delongchamp says he and his wife are thinking about using the money for home improvements. “Our house is from the 1980s,” he explained. “We’re also possibly getting a newer car—ours is 18 years old,” he added. “It feels good!”
