Holly Cole discusses her new album, ‘Dark Moon’

Canadian jazz singer Holly Cole discusses her 13th album, ‘Dark Moon,’ with Ian White.

“To this day, I adore it,” Juno award winning jazz singer Holly Cole says of I Can See Clearly Now, the song that became a hit for her in 1993.

The song was played heavily on MuchMusic, and her album, Don’t Smoke in Bed, went platinum in Canada.

Cole’s fascination with I Can See Clearly Now began when she grew up in Halifax.

“I adore that song. That song, actually, is the first record LP I ever owned,” Cole told CTV News.

Cole will perform from her new album, Dark Moon, and other songs from her thirty-plus year career Sept. 16 at the Bella Concert Hall in Calgary.

On Sept. 14, the Toronto International Film Festival will debut Lilith Fair: Building a Mystery, a documentary on the all-women festival in the late 1990s, which Cole performed at.

“It was a wonderful experience and a totally different music festival. It was all organized by women, so it was really well-organized,” she laughed.
