Two people were taken to hospital after a head-on crash in southern Alberta at about 9 p.m. on Sunday. The crash took place on Highway 7, just east of Diamond Valley. Crews had to extricate both drivers. Police say a 37-year-old woman, driving a Dodge pickup truck, was taken to hospital by STARS air ambulance in serious condition. The other, a 39-year-old man behind the wheel of another Dodge pickup truck, was taken to hospital in serious condition. RCMP say the male was passing another vehicle when he struck the truck driven by the woman head-on. Investigators believe the male was impaired by alcohol. Charges are pending.
