Glass goes back-to-back at Rangeland Derby, closing gap on top 3 riders

Jason Glass had the fastest time for the second night in a row at the Rangeland Derby on Wednesday night

The skies over the 2026 Rangeland Derby on Wednesday night looked a lot like they did Tuesday --warm and dry--and the results did too, as Jason Glass recorded the fastest time of the night for the second night in a row.

Glass, a two-time Rangeland Derby winner, ran the eighth heat in 1:11:14 to edge out Chad Fike, who posted a time of 1:11:99 in the same heat.

Jamie Laboucane was third, Dayton Sutherland ran fourth and four-time Rangeland Derby winner Kurt Bensmiller finished fifth.

Laboucane maintained his overall lead, with an aggregate time over the first six nights of 7:14:38, increasing the gap over second-place Chanse Vigen to 1.83 seconds. Ray Croteau Jr. continues to hold down the all-important third place, although his lead over fourth-place Glass has shrunk to just under two seconds.

Fike is fifth.
