Former Calgary mobile home builder convicted of 13 counts of fraud

A Calgary businessman has been convicted of 13 counts of fraud following a year-and-a-half-long investigation into consumer complaints.

Robert Bradley Sander, the former director of Home Squad Inc., was found guilty on Nov. 18.

Officials say between September 2018 and February 2020, victims paid $2.43 million for homes they never received.

Home Squad Inc. declared bankruptcy in August 2020, a month after it was ordered by the government to cease operations.

That order, dated July 10, 2020, said the company made promises it knew or ought to have known it couldn’t keep.
