Canmore is now home to a new Nordic spa. Everwild Nordic Spa and Hotel officially opens its doors on Thursday. The nearly 40,000-square-foot spa is integrated within the 99-room hotel, located at 1 Silvertip Tr. The spa has both indoor and outdoor space, including a full thermal circuit with hot, cold and tempered pools. Along with hydrotherapy, the spa also has relaxation zones and panoramic views of the Three Sisters mountain range. “Everwild represents a new chapter in Canadian wellness where architecture, nature and culture converge,” said Basecamp Resorts founder and CEO Sky McLean in a news release. “We can’t wait to welcome our first guests.” The heart of the spa is a large ‘event sauna’ with space for up to 42 people, designed for guided rituals. Inside the spa there are six treatment rooms and a lounge serving small bites and drinks. Larger meals can be found at the hotel’s Rhythm and Howl restaurant and lounge. Officials expect the hotel and spa will welcome 78,000 visitors annually. “Everwild showcases the type of signature experience that pushes Alberta forward and signals where our visitor economy is headed,” said Jon Mamela, chief commercial officer at Travel Alberta. “It elevates wellness in the Rockies, fuels Canmore’s economy and gives travellers one more reason to stay longer.” Mamela says Alberta is a “prime market” for premium wellness experiences, and is becoming one of the “most compelling” tourism investment destinations in North America.
