Temperatures will sit slightly below seasonal around southern Alberta on Thursday. Cooler air from a low-pressure system in northwestern Alberta started to move into the region on Wednesday and will stick around Thursday, until being pushed out by an incoming ridge of high pressure from the Pacific basin. Despite being cooler – the day should remain mostly clear with some moderate southeast wind. In Calgary, the sustained wind speed should peak around 20 to 40 km/h on Thursday. The daytime high in Calgary on Friday will be 10-degrees warmer than Thursday’s high, with those warmer values continuing into Saturday. Another bout of instability is forecast to initiate Saturday afternoon. Precipitation will move east to west over the Rockies - including portions of the southern foothills – accompanied by another quick cooldown in temperatures. Next week will bring a little more consistency. Daytime highs in Calgary are expected to sit around seasonal norms ranging from 11 C to 14 C from Monday through Friday. The average high in Calgary this time of year is 13 C.
