The Calgary Humane Society has taken in more than 30 dogs from an “unsafe living situation” after they were seized as part of an investigation into animal cruelty. While the investigation is ongoing and initial details are limited, the humane society confirmed 33 small-breed dogs were seized from a property on April 21. The dogs were seized due to “environmental distress.” Charges are pending. “Thank you for your patience and understanding as our team carefully assesses each one, making sure they receive the medical attention, comfort and compassion they deserve,” the organization said in a Facebook post. The dogs will become available for adoption over the next few weeks. The humane society said to keep an eye on its adoption page for updates.
