It was a busy weekend for Beausoleil Fire and Rescue services as crews came to the aid of several people. According to a social media post from the emergency service, occupants of a “pleasure craft,” needed help when their craft sank northwest of Giant’s Tomb Island. The island is located in Georgian Bay, north of Tiny Township. Beausoleil Fire and Rescue says the call for help came around 4:20 p.m. on Saturday. All five people on the craft were rescued from the water with no injuries. Also on Saturday, Beausoleil Fire and Rescue attended the scene of another distress call, this time in Cawaja Beach. Beausoleil Fire and Rescue says all three people involved in that call were also successfully rescued.
