The Calgary Flames recalled defenceman Ilya Solovyov from their AHL affiliate the Wranglers on Wednesday. Solovyov, who is from Minsk in Belarus, has played 41 games for the Wranglers, scoring six goals and adding 15 assists en route to compiling a +18 rating, the second-highest on the team. He played 10 games for the Flames in 2023-24, notching three assists. The 24-year-old was a seventh-round pick of the Flames in 2020. Calgary lost 6-3 to the Toronto Maple Leafs Tuesday night at the Saddledome. Next up for the Flames: Thursday night, they host the Avalanche. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
