This year’s Calgary Comics and Entertainment Expo is down some Goonies stars. Previously, Calgary Expo announced Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Robert Davi, Joe Pantoliano, Martha Plimpton and Kerri Green would be at the show. All of them starred in the iconic 1980s movie. Tuesday, Expo said over social media Davi, Pantoliano and Plimpton have had to pull out. Expo said the three “were excited to see everyone” but “are no longer able to make it due to filming and schedule changes.” Expo also announced Manny Jacinto from The Acolyte has cancelled. According to Expo, Jacinto “was looking forward to meeting all of his fans in Calgary, but due to a schedule conflict, he is also unable to attend.” In all cases, Expo said those with paid experiences impacted by the cancellations will be contacted. Celebrity guests are still being added to the list for this year’s show. Tuesday, Catherine Bell from The Good Witch was announced. Other celebrity guests include: Andrew Moyes, FanExpoHQ vice-president, told CTV News in a previous interview it’s a lot of moving parts to get and keep celebrity guest lists in sync. Or, a lot of stars to align. “Lots of very rapid phone calls, lots of favours,” Moyes said. “It’s where our sense of responsibility to our fans comes in. “We really want to ensure that we’re finding the best possible scenario to go back with another option for our community.” Expo runs April 23-26 at the BMO Centre. More information about the show—and tickets—can be found on Expo’s website.
