Boats, ATVs and other vehicles recovered by Cochrane RCMP

Cochrane RCMP say two people have been charged after police recovered $75,000 in property from a home in Rocky View County last week.

Authorities launched an investigation after stolen property was believed to be located at a home in Springbank, Alta.

On Feb. 12, Cochrane RCMP executed a search warrant at the home and found the following:

• a Starcraft SFM boat and trailer;
• a Chaparral 190 SSI boat and trailer;
• a utility trailer;
• several ATVs;
• a Husqvarna ride-on mower;
• a Bombardier Sea-Doo; and
• a Can-Am BRP Side-by-side.

RCMP say the vehicles were taken from several other communities including Cochrane, Calgary, Strathmore, Rocky View County and Ontario.

Two people, both residents of Rocky View County, are facing charges including possession of property obtained by crime, altering or removing a vehicle identification number and weapon offences.

“The Alberta RCMP remains committed to targeting prolific offenders and disrupting rural property crime,” said Cochrane RCMP Insp. Dave Brunner in a news release.

“Property crime has a significant impact on our rural residents. This seizure demonstrates our continued focus on holding offenders accountable and returning stolen property to victims.”

Both suspects remain in custody ahead of their next court hearing on Feb. 17.

RCMP are working on returning the stolen vehicles to their rightful owners.
