NEW YORK — Strength for technology stocks is helping the U.S. market to hold firmer, even as pressure from the bond market continues to rattle markets worldwide. The S&P 500 rose 0.3 per cent early Thursday and was on track to break a three-day losing streak. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 259 points, and the Nasdaq composite climbed 0.5 per cent. Technology stocks helped lead the way higher in the early going. Microsoft rose 1.8% and Alphabet added 1.3 per cent. Accenture soared 21 per cent after reporting profits that easily beat forecasts. The yield on the 10-year Treasury rose to 5.31 per cent. European markets were broadly lower. By Yuri Kageyama and Michelle Chapman
