Quebecor Inc. reported its third-quarter profit and revenue rose compared with a year ago, helped by the strength of its telecommunications and media operations. The company says its net income totalled $302.6 million or $1.33 per share for the quarter ended Sept. 30. The result was up from a profit of $238.7 million or $1.03 per share a year earlier. On an adjusted basis, Quebecor says it earned $1.32 per share in its latest quarter, up from an adjusted profit of $1.05 per share in the same quarter last year. Revenue totalled $1.45 billion, up from $1.41 billion in the third quarter of 2025. Telecommunications revenue totalled $1.27 billion, up from $1.22 billion a year ago, while media revenue totalled $154.2 million, up from $152.1 million. Sports and entertainment revenue amounted to $64.5 million, down from $68.3 million in the same quarter last year. In its third quarter, Quebecor added 136,700 net mobile lines in the quarter, up from 113,800 subscriber additions in the same period last year. It said that was the largest quarterly increase in the number of subscriber connections since the company launched mobile service in 2010. “All three of our brands, Videotron, Freedom and Fizz, contributed to this record growth, reflecting both the success of our Canada‑wide expansion, the strength of our organic growth in Quebec and the soundness of our strategic decisions in a highly competitive market,” said Quebecor president and chief executive Pierre Karl Péladeau in a news release. “The value and appeal of our offerings continue to set us apart, driving both the acquisition of new subscribers and the loyalty of our customer base.” The company also added 8,600 net internet subscriptions, down from 10,500 net adds during last year’s third quarter. Quebecor’s mobile telephone services revenue was $492.2 million, up 9.6 per cent year-over-year, while internet access services revenue grew three per cent to $320.4 million.
