TRENTON, Ont. - The body of the latest Canadian soldier to die in Afghanistan has arrived back home.

A military plane carrying Sapper Brian Collier's casket landed at CFB Trenton, in eastern Ontario, this afternoon.

The 24-year-old soldier died Tuesday when a makeshift bomb exploded near Kandahar City.

Collier, who was born in Toronto and raised in Bradford, Ont., was serving with the 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group.

Collier's body will travel along the Highway of Heroes to the coroner's office in Toronto.

He is the 151st member of the Canadian military to die during the Afghan mission since it began in 2002.
