Track upgrades on Barrie GO line continue

From Saturday until end of service on Sunday, Barrie Line rail service will be modified to accommodate major track upgrades.

Metrolinx says track closures are required to make essential improvements that will support faster, more frequent GO service as part of GO Expansion.

During the closure, crews are conducting foundational work for a second track and corridor improvements, including Aurora GO, King City GO, Maple GO, the Davenport Diamond Guideway and in downtown Toronto as part of the GO expansion.

Metrolinx says this work can only be completed when train service is modified.

Train schedules:

• GO trains will only run between Allandale Waterfront and Rutherford GO, then run direct to Hwy 407 Bus Terminal.
• There will be no GO Transit service at Downsview Park GO. If you’re at Union or Downsview Park, you can use TTC Line 1 to connect to/from GO bus service.

Metrolinx says schedules will be adjusted starting from next Monday until Tuesday, October 13.

Train departure times will be adjusted for up to three minutes earlier or later than scheduled. Check schedules before you travel. GO buses may depart at different times than train schedules.
