Town looking for public input on boardwalk reconstruction project

The Town of Newmarket is reconstructing a prominent boardwalk and is looking for your feedback.

The Town says the boardwalk at Fairy Lake has reached the end of its lifecycle and it’s ready for a reconstruction.

The public will be able to see various design concepts on display boards presented by the Town’s consultant at the public meeting.

There will also be the opportunity for people to ask questions and give feedback on how the Fairy Lake boardwalk should be transformed.

One of the plans the Town has in place is widening the boardwalk to meet requirements laid out by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

It also plans to install drainage solutions to prevent flooding, rest areas for people using the trail, railings to enhance safety and to make the boardwalk even longer so it goes up to the Municipal Offices area.

The public meeting is happening on Wed., April 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Municipal Offices on Mulock Drive inside the Council Chambers.
