Emergency crews responded to a major crash in Dufferin County Sunday evening that landed a handful of occupants in hospital and resulted in the closure of a provincial highway. In a 5:40 p.m. social media post, the OPP reported that both directions of Highway 89 were closed in the Shelburne area between County Road 12 (5th Line) and 4th Line. Police confirm three cars were involved and injuries were being assessed. An OPP public information advisor told CTV News that a total of seven people were hospitalized with minor injuries. The area remained closed for several hours as crews worked on the scene.
