If you’re heading to the Elmvale Fall Fair next weekend, be prepared for a few road closures and parking restrictions around the fairgrounds. Organizers say the measures are necessary to keep visitors safe and to make room for livestock trailers, tractors, and parade vehicles coming and going from the site. From Friday, Oct. 10 through Saturday, Oct. 11, there will be no parking allowed on William Street. Parking on the fairgrounds itself will be limited to vendors and those with accessibility needs. At the same time, George Street, from Lorne Street to just past the east entrance gate, will be closed to all vehicles. Maria Street will also be closed between George Street and Peter Street. Organizers stress these are the same arrangements that were in place last year and are once again aimed at ensuring smooth traffic flow and pedestrian safety during one of Elmvale’s busiest weekends of the year. The 163rd Elmvale Fall Fair kicks off Friday and runs through Saturday, and features two days of midway rides, livestock shows, live entertainment, and the traditional parade.
