A campground closure at one of Ontario’s most scenic national parks has been extended yet again, and this time, fall campers won’t be returning anytime soon. Parks Canada says Cyprus Lake Campground at Bruce Peninsula National Park will be closed through Oct. 31 due to increased bear activity. The latest news follows two previous closure notices issued in recent weeks. On Aug. 28, the campground was expected to remain closed through Sept. 3. Days later, that closure was extended through Sept. 11. Now, the closure has been pushed through the end of October. Parks Canada says it will continue to assess bear activity and work with reservation holders and the public if further closures are needed. Grotto parking reservations and day-use areas remain open. Backcountry campers are required to park at Halfway Log Dump until further notice.
