Orillia hosts silent auction to support Buddy Program

Buying yourself a locally made piece of art could have a bigger impact than just a new decoration for your home.

The Orillia Recreation Centre says funding for this year’s Buddy Program has already been secured, so it’s turning its sights to future programming.

The city now plans to host the Cottage Memories Silent Auction, proceeds from which will go toward the Buddy Program at city operated camps in the future.

The items up for bidding, which largely include artwork from local artists, will be on display at the rec centre, where residents can place initial bids until June 24.

Shortly there after, the items will be moved to the Orillia Opera House, where the final auction will take place.
