Officers allegedly seize 800 grams of heroin following drug trafficking investigation

A group of people have been charged by Caledon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) following a recent warrant execution involving 800 grams of heroin.

The Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), a division of the Caledon OPP, laid numerous charges on seven people in a drug trafficking investigation.

With the help of other CSCUs, Toronto Police, and the RCMP, officers conducted the investigation this summer including search warrants on several residences and vehicles across the GTA.

Officials managed to take 800 grams of heroin, methamphetamine (a synthetic drug used illegally as a stimulant), along with a hefty amount of money. They also seized a variety of paraphernalia like digital scales, packaging materials, allegedly stolen watercrafts, a trailer, firearm ammunition, and body armour.

“The success of this drug trafficking investigation reflects our ongoing commitment to public safety and the disruption of criminal networks across the Town of Caledon and the Greater Toronto Area,” said Det. Sergeant Steven Linton with the Caledon OPP Detachment. “These results demonstrate the effectiveness of coordinated investigative efforts and the dedication of our officers to keeping our communities safe and free from illegal activity.“

As a result of the investigation, police say they laid 38 charges on the group ranging in age from 20 to 45.
