A Georgina man has been charged while police continue searching for three other suspects connected to a daytime shooting in a parking lot earlier this month. York Regional Police say a 40-year-old man was arrested after investigators linked him to the June 4 incident near Dovedale Drive and Woodbine Avenue. According to officers, around 4:15 p.m., three suspects, armed with at least one firearm, hopped out of a sedan and confronted a man in a brown SUV. During the confrontation, a firearm was allegedly discharged at the trio from inside the SUV. Both vehicles fled the scene before officers arrived, and no injuries were reported. Following the probe, police identified the accused as the SUV driver and recovered his vehicle. Officers say they seized controlled substances, cash and live ammunition at the time of his arrest. Police say a search warrant executed at his home uncovered other drugs believed to be cocaine, fentanyl and oxycodone with an estimated value of $10,000, along with more cash and two BB guns. The man is facing multiple charges, including reckless discharge of a firearm, failing to comply with a prohibition order and six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Police are still trying to identify the three suspects who fled the scene and say no descriptions are available. Anyone with information is asked to contact the York Regional Police.
