Man, 21, charged with impaired driving after crashing into snowbank on Highway 118

A 21-year-old has been charged with impaired driving after his vehicle was discovered lodged in a snowbank on Highway 118.

On the evening of Jan. 19, Bracebridge police officers responded to a report of a single vehicle crash into an on-ramp to Highway 11 North in Bracebridge.

When police arrived, they arrested an Orillia man and charged him with impaired operation over 80, and a novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration of above zero.

The man is schedule to appear before the courts at a later date to answer to his charges.

Officers encourage people to call 9-1-1 if they observe any kind of impaired driving.

“Police will make every effort to locate the involved vehicle and conduct an investigation; many times, these investigations result in charges and removing impaired drivers from Muskoka roads,” said police in a Monday release.
