‘Love is in the air’ Couples tie the knot at unique intimate venue in Orillia

Couples gathered on the day of love to tie the knot at a unique intimate venue in Orillia.

A group of Reverends in Orillia have created a unique way to spread the love on Valentines Day by creating a pop up wedding venue at the Stephen Leacock Museum and Fare.

Reverend Julie Mori was one of the wedding officiants and said herself and two others came up with the idea.

“It’s just a beautiful spot on a beautiful setting with the lake right outside,” said Mori.

Six couples officially tied the knot on Saturday inside Fare with the private dining area converted into a small venue.

“They can expect a nice, intimate, ceremony here in the chapel for up to ten guests,” said Mori. “They will have charcuterie board and a bottle of bubbly from the restaurant today and, 90 minutes of their time, plus as many photos as they can handle.”

Adrian Telfer and his now wife Nadalie heard of the event on social media and signed up right away.

The couple loves Valentines Day and thought it was a perfect way to make the day more special.

“I love Valentine’s Day. I love, love so much. I love hearts and pink and all that stuff, so it was kind of perfect,” said Nadalie.

The idea of a small intimate wedding was the ideal situation for the two lovebirds.

“It’s so much more intimate. Everybody that we want there is here, we didn’t have to invite people that we’re not super close with,” said Telfer.
