Local park gets winter-ready with exciting upgrades

One local park is slated for upgrades.

The Phelpston Ed Valendar Park Pavilion in Springwater is taking on some new renovations, with construction scheduled to begin the week of September 7.

A new pavilion will be placed over the existing multipurpose sports court, which will now be equipped with new lighting, providing a versatile space for year-round enjoyment.

“This structure will enhance both court and ice sports, ensuring a vibrant recreational hub for the community,” stated the Township of Springwater on its website.

Construction fencing has been temporarily installed around the court while workers complete the required job.

According to town staff, during construction, certain areas of the park may be temporarily inaccessible.

The pavilion is anticipated to reopen just in time for the winter season.
