Not only was a late-night driver caught speeding in Angus, but he was also impaired by alcohol, police say. This incident happened shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday when a Nottawasaga police officer conducting speed enforcement on Mill Street stopped a vehicle allegedly travelling 146 kilometres per hour in a posted 60 km/h zone. Police say the vehicle was also being driven in the dark without its headlights on. During the traffic stop, the officer noted indicators of alleged impairment and initiated an investigation into impaired driving. As a result, a 28-year-old from Barrie was arrested and charged with operation while impaired with alcohol, dangerous operation, driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available and driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.
