Sunshine and warm temperatures have already melted a significant portion of this winter’s snow load. Now, with up to 40 millimetres of rain forecasted during the next 24-hours, flooding is likely to be exacerbated in low-lying areas. Innisfil has already thrown up the white flag on several streets known for their annual flooding. Innisfil Road Closures: “Crews are on site conducting pumping operations and will continue to monitor other low-lying and flood-prone areas as more significant rain is in the forecast. Please stay tuned for further updates as conditions evolve,” said a statement from the town’s office. The press release advises drivers to avoid flooded roads and not to drive through standing water. Keep children and pets away from all watercourses.
