Innisfil is once again making an unwanted appearance on the annual CAA Worst Roads list, with 6th Line landing among the top ten worst roads in Central Ontario this year. The ranking comes as part of the 23rd year of the CAA Worst Roads campaign, which asks drivers to flag the roads that cause the most frustration. This year’s results also place the 20th Sideroad in Innisfil, along with Fraserburg Road in Bracebridge, Laclie Street in Orillia and Huronia Road in Barrie as the worst. CAA’s number one worst road in Ontario is Barton Street East in Hamilton. According to the ranking, this year marks the third time this street has taken first place. “The CAA Worst Roads campaign gives Ontarians a voice and helps shine a light on the roads that need attention most,” says Brian Pirvu, government relations consultant for CAA South Central Ontario. “When people speak up, it helps drive action and ensures governments understand where investments are needed to keep communities safe and moving.” New data released by CAA shows the issue is simply not going away. Eight in ten members say they’re worried about road conditions, while nearly 70 per cent feel not enough is being done, up five per cent from 2025. “Reliable infrastructure isn’t just about convenience; it’s about safety, affordability and quality of life,” says Pirvu. “Investing in roads helps reduce repair costs for drivers and ensures people can get where they need to go safely.” Many Simcoe County roads appearing on this year’s list have shown up before, reflecting ongoing infrastructure challenges in communities close to home. CAA says it will continue to advocate for stable, predictable investment in road maintenance and long-term solutions to address the province’s growing infrastructure needs.
