You have seen their stands located throughout the region and now Hewitts Farm will celebrate their 50th anniversary. Ron and Linda Hewitt began growing and selling sweet corn in 1976 and have not looked back. “It’s hard to believe that we actually been there doing this that long,” said Ron Hewitt. “We’ve had a lot of ups and downs, but overall it’s been really nice.” Linda Hewitt began baking in the 80’s. Haven’t been baking the butter tarts for quite that long, started in the 80,“ said Linda Hewitt. ”I have taught a lot of girls how to make pastry and make tarts, and it’s nice to see that the boys are keeping it going." Trevor Hewitt now runs the family business and said its great to continue to see generations come to the farm to buy their local produce. “We have some people that their grandchildren are now picking corn for us or, or their kids are picking corn, we’ve employed so many people over the years that that’s pretty cool too.” said Trevor Hewitt.
