Here’s what’s open and closed Family Day

Family Day Monday is the province’s first statutory holiday of the year.

Some services will be affected by the provincial holiday while others will not.

Barrie City Hall will be closed but the rotunda will be open for Family Day activities.

Recreation and community centres will have regular operating hours with several drop-in activities like free drop-in swims, skates and Family Zumba.

Barrie Transit is operating on a Sunday service schedule with only Route 4 running, while GO Transit will run on a Saturday schedule.

There is no change to curbside collection in Barrie.

Downtown Barrie street parking is free, as it is on all weekends and statutory holidays, so enjoy events like the hot cocoa trail.

The Simcoe County Museum is open with special Family Day programming.

Banks, schools, and municipal and provincial government offices are closed.

Most grocery stores, malls and banks are also closed.
