The Gbay Gals Give hosted their Fall Giving Event at the Georgian Shores Senior Centre with food sponsor was Gail Stone. “We are so grateful that we continue to have venues that open their doors for free and that we are able to have such generous sponsors. We would not be able to do what we do without them,” said Michelle Mink, a Gbay Gals Give committee member. Mink said the turnout was “fabulous” and Gbay Gals were able to raise $44,415 for their two recipient charities, the Georgian Bay Food Network and Angels with Backpacks. “Doing what we do for our local registered charities is only part of the magic that happens within this group, we have gained friendships and a sense of being part of a family that helps the best way they can,” she said. “This community thrives on helping and supporting one other and I truly believe we shine brighter when we do. We have heard firsthand of the significance this money has on the organizations that were chosen this time around and about the vital work they do. And they are so grateful,” Mink said.
