The commute to work for residents across Barrie was a careful one Tuesday morning, as thick patches of fog blanketed the city, causing low visibility. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says the fog patches should dissipate by the afternoon, but nicer weather does not appear to be in sight. With a daytime high of 26 C, residents can expect a full day of thick cloud cover, a 20 per cent chance of precipitation in the morning and a 30 per cent chance in the afternoon, according to ECCC. As of 2 p.m., ECCC says a risk of thunderstorms is in effect and that risk remains until 8 p.m. The overall low for Barrie on Tuesday is 18 C. Although the UV index remains moderate at a five, Humidex in the city is estimated to be 34.
