Firefighters knocking on doors in Tay Township

Starting Monday, firefighters in Tay township will be going door to door and connecting with residents.

From 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 pm., residents of Waubaushene, Victoria Harbour, Rural Tay and Port McNicoll can expect a visit from uniformed firefighters who will be educating residents on fire and emergency safety.

The fire department will also be teaching residents about smoke alarms and carbon monoxide safety as well as answering questions.

The fire department says the educational initiative is part of a larger effort to connect with residents and share life-saving information and to make sure residents are aware of their responsibilities under Ontario’s Fire Code.

Throughout the year, the education program head to other parts of town.
