A nostalgic trend that flocked to Simcoe County in the spring is popping up on the Barrie Public Library porch this summer. The library shared its new addition to the team on social media – a porch goose, dressed as Ariel from Disney’s A Little Mermaid. It turns out, the goose belongs to one of the library’s staff members who’s been bringing it in for some summer-themed programming. That mermaid costume was handmade by staff member’s daughter. The goose is shown adorned with a purple, seashell top and a green tail, with wiggly, red hair and a crown. A spokesperson for the library said a pattern wasn’t used to create the unique outfit. The goose doesn’t have just one outfit. It was seen wearing a different costume for the library’s ‘90s-themed party. That outfit was an animal print top with splashes of colourful shapes and a matching hat and gold chain. The goose could also be seen with a retro boombox. The possibilities are clearly endless for what this goose could wear.
