One man is facing an arson charge after a fire at a residence in Wasaga Beach. The incident dates back to March 22, when police were called to the scene of a structure fire on Mosley Street around 3:20 a.m. The fire was at a residence, but at the time of the blaze, no one was home. The home was considered a total loss after the fire, estimated at $150,000. The house fire was determined to be suspicious, sparking an investigation by the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). On Monday, police announced a 50-year-old Markham man had been charged with arson in relation to the fire.
