Police say they are investigating the distribution of antisemitic materials throughout Orillia, again. On Sunday, officers responded to reports that hate-motivated materials, similar to those reported in May, were being distributed throughout the community. The OPP’s Hate and Extremism Unit is assisting with the investigation. Officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed these incidents or has information to come forward. “Acts that target individuals or communities based on race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other protected characteristics have no place in our communities and will not be tolerated,” said police in a release. The investigation is being led by the Orillia OPP Major Crime Unit. People with information should contact police at 1-888-310-1122. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
