P.E.I. premier swears in new government cabinet

Prince Edward Island’s new premier announced the members of his government’s provincial cabinet Thursday during a ceremony at Government House.

Rob Lantz, who was sworn in as premier Monday afternoon, says the team brings experience and fresh perspectives.

The following people were given ministerial responsibilities:

• Bloyce Thompson – attorney general, minister of Justice and Public Safety, and Agriculture
• Darlene Compton – minister of Land and Environment
• Ernie Hudson – minister of Fisheries, Rural Development, and Tourism
• Cory Deagle – acting minister of Health and Wellness
• Mark McLane – minister of Health and Wellness
• Gilles Arsenault – minister of Economic Development, Trade and Artificial Intelligence, minister responsible for Acadian and Francophone Affairs
• Jill Burridge – minister of Finance and Affordability
• Barb Ramsay – minister of Social Development and Seniors, minister responsible for the Status of Women
• Zack Bell – minister of Workforce and Advanced
• Robin Croucher – minister of Education and Early Years
• Sidney MacEwen – minister of Housing and Communities, and Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy.

“These changes strengthen our cabinet as we continue working together to move Prince Edward Island forward and deliver on the priorities that matter most to Islanders,” said Lantz.
