Halifax police say they continue to investigate a woman’s disappearance 35 years after she went missing. Leslie Anne Katnick, 25, was reported missing to police by her father in Montreal on Nov. 4, 1991. Katnick had been living in Montreal until Nov. 1, 1991, which was the last time she was seen by friends or family. Investigators determined she registered at the Halifax YMCA on Nov. 2 and returned the key Nov. 4. Her bank card was also used in Halifax on Nov. 2. Officials say no further information has surfaced about Katnick’s whereabouts and the circumstances of her disappearance are suspicious. “Investigators believe there are people who have information about Leslie’s disappearance and urge these people to come forward and share anything that they remember, no matter how small the detail,” reads a news release from Halifax Regional Police. Katnick’s case is also part of the Nova Scotia’s Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program, which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction for certain major unsolved crimes. Anyone with information on Katnick’s disappearance is asked to call Halifax police at 902-490-5020 or the rewards program at 1-888-710-9090.
