Souls Harbour Rescue Mission has officially opened its newest facility in Yarmouth, N.S. The group – which offers food and shelter to those in need – opened Souls Harbour South on 94 Main St. on Tuesday. Yarmouth-born entrepreneur Mandy Rennehan, also known as the “Blue-Collar CEO,” donated the six-unit property to the organization. “Yarmouth made me who I am, so this one hits close to home,” Rennehan said in a news release. “I wanted to create something that gives people another reason to visit, experience how special this place is and, at the same time, contribute meaningfully. Not everyone can write a big cheque to a charity, but a lot of people can book a weekend away. “Here, that weekend can help someone rebuild their life. There’s something pretty powerful about that.” Souls Harbour said the new facility will provide opportunities for people to gain work experience and hospitality skills.
