Schools in western Cape Breton are delaying opening Thursday morning due to a series of power outages. More than 5,000 customers are without electricity around Chéticamp, Margaree Forks and Little Narrows. “Transmission interruption” is listed as the cause of the outages on Nova Scotia Power’s outage map. The Strait Regional Centre for Education says there will be a two-hour delayed opening at the following schools: CSAP says classes are delayed by two hours at École NDA. Meal service is also cancelled at the school, and students will have to bring their own lunch.
